Meatplow was formed in the Spring if 2003 to pay tribute to one of the best, yet most under-appreciated, grunge bands of all time, The Stone Temple Pilots.

From the release of their first album "Core" in 1992, STP was critiqued in the press as being too derivative of bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains, even though their craftmanship was unmistakable and unique.

In 1994 STP released a follow up LP, "Purple" which contained several hit singles, but this album also did not recieve any critical acclaim. This travesty was the inspiration for Meatplow.

With undeniably memorable rock anthems like Plush, Sex Type Thing, Interstate Love Song, Dead and Bloated, and Unglued, the Stone Temple Pilots deserve love and respect for all of their efforts over the years.

Putting together Meatplow was a fitting way to honor this remarkable band and reming aal of those who love rock and roll what superior songwriting and quality musicianship is all about.
